Bug ID: 4731336

After playing back movie file, display corruption seen when monitor is resumed from time out power down state.

SoftBIOS

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

During an overlay event, monitor status was not updated causing the corruption. The code is updated to correctly show monitor status while overlay is present.

Bug ID: 4852237

BSOD seen if system is sitting idle while a system monitoring application is running in the background.

SoftBIOS

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Application consuming too much stack space causing stack overflow. Added WA in the driver to allow for more stack consumption

Issues Resolved in Build 5436

Reference No.

Bug ID: 4850927

No display on DP monitor after turning monitor off then on

SoftBIOS

Windows XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

When monitor is turned off, the driver was not setting timing of the panel if EDID hash was not cleared.  This is now fixed by performing set timing in all cases.

Bug ID: 4851815

After setting EDID less timing of panel in BMP and rebooting, CUI still shows EDID information

SoftBIOS

Windows XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family
2nd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

This feature of supporting EDID less setting has been ported to 14.51 driver baseline

Issues Resolved in Build 5430

Reference No.

Description

Affected Component(s)

Affected OS(s)

Affected Project(s)

Bug ID: 4730614

Opening and closing windows causes the system to freeze or become unstable

Miniport

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family
2nd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Some handles were not released after being created, causing a mismatch of the number of handles

Bug ID: 4731558

Microsoft Excel add in function called Power Pivot does not work properly

DirectDraw

Windows* XP

2nd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Issue was caused by lack of memory allocation failure handling when virtual memory size is not enough.  Added a fallback method to correct this, and it fixes the issue.

Bug ID: 4691253

When attaching a non EDID monitor for the first time, configuration doesn't change to Dual Display Clone automatically

Miniport

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

In case of EDID less monitor, native refresh rate will always be zero, hence it's hard coded in the clone mode function.

Issues Resolved in Build 5427

Description

Affected Component(s)

Affected OS(s)

Affected Project(s)

Bug ID: 4691376

Display Port Compliance test fails at EDID Test case

SoftBIOS

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Test was failing because the EDID has timings with borders but the driver was removing these borders by stretching it.  The fix is to not remove the borders.

Bug ID: 4386177

Artifacts and color corruption seen when playing back MP4 clips using VLC in embedded OS environment

GHAL2D

Windows* XP

2nd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family
3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Issue is resolved by going from planar to RGB format directly - skipping conversion to packed format.

Bug ID: 4691081

Graphics driver is terminated when production test was running

Miniport

Windows* XP

2nd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Issue was caused due to hang in the driver when switching from 2D to 3D workload. This is fixed by always waiting for the latest updated tag.

Bug ID: 4799309

Horizontal line noise appears on desktop when running power on/off cycles

SoftBIOS

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Provided a workaround to allow for full link training when auto link training fails.

Issues Resolved in Build 5421

Reference No.

Description

Bug ID: 4199090

GetSupportedGraphicsModes() in the CUISDK is not passing the correct parameters

CUI

Windows* XP,
Windows* 7

Next generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

New API called IGFX_GET_SET_N_VIEW_CONFIG_GUID is now available for setting configuration and should be used to avoid this error.

Bug ID: 4384243

When docking system with lid closed (and set to do nothing) to a dock with one or two DVI monitors attached, display does not switch to either one or both of the DVI displays.

Miniport

Windows* XP

2nd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family
Next generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Fixed issue by changing re-enumeration code path.

Bug ID: 4605802

If external DP display is turned off first and system is shut down, during reboot, there is no display on expternal DP monitor when turnign on DP monitor after system is booted and at the log on screen.

Miniport

Windows* XP

Intel® 4 Series Chipset Family
Next generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Since Windows* XP OS is unaware of hot plug events, peristence on hot plug is handled in CUI. In this case, since CUI doesn't load while system is in locked/logon screen, there is no display. To workaround, the driver makes a modeset call without the OS's awareness.

Bug ID: 4692073

Screen display offset is not correct with some panels

SoftBIOS

Windows* XP

Next generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Failure to read EDID from the correct location was causing this issue

Issues Resolved in Build 5415

Description

Affected Component(s)

Affected OS(s)

Affected Project(s)

Bug ID: 4566005

Display will show garbage when changing resolution

SoftBIOS

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

During set mode panel power was turned off after pipes and planes were disabled. Since the panel was staying on for some time during set mode it was showing garbage. To fix changed the order so that panel power is turned off before disabling panels and pipes.

Bug ID: 4606079

Hard hang occurs when closing lid and docking system after display has turned off.

SoftBIOS

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

Dead lock between display setting and power conservation call was causing the hard hang. To fix added a timeout to allow one of the calls to timeout in order to avoid the deadlock.

Bug ID: 4607388

Brightness level stays at low level set in DC mode before going to S4 plugging AC and resuming.

Power Conservation

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

When the power state is changed from DC to AC while the system is suspended the driver will not receive a notification. This causes the brightness setting to remain at the previous level.

Fix: Always set the correct backlight brightness after a mode change. During resume this will restore the appropriate brightness level.

On connecting external monitor in clone mode, the 1366x768 resolution was not being displayed in the CUI

SoftBIOS

Windows* XP

3rd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

The case is DDC (LFP + CRT)  when 13x7 is present in LFP and not in CRT panel   and the OEM has added static modes.    When we query for 13x7 mode as this mode is not in CRT list we are not showing 13x7 mode.   Fix :  Implemented preferences in the search algorithm, so when queried 13x7 mode is also shown.
