Intel(r) Pocket Concert(tm) Audio Player Firmware Version 1.1 Update Note: Print this page for easy reference while you install and run the Firmware Update. This package delivers and installs the Version 1.1 firmware update to your Intel(r) Pocket Concert(tm) Audio Player. Firmware instructs your Player how to react; such as what to do when you press the Play button. The Version 1.1 Update gives you following functionality. * Changes fast forward and fast rewind behavior. Instead of scanning 5 seconds of play time for every 1 second that you hold the button, scanning is now continuous until you release the button. * You can scan extremely long WMA files. * Your FM Tuner digital presets are retained at all times. * Your Bookmarks are retained at all times. * You can configure your FM Tuner to work in different regions worldwide. NOTE: If you have Windows* XP, you must first download and install the updated Windows XP drivers for your Intel(r) Pocket Concert(tm) Audio Player to work on your computer. This version 1.1 firmware update will not work on your Player until you have successfully installed the Windows XP drivers on your computer. Downloading the Firmware Update 1. Download and save FWUPD11.EXE to a temporary location on your computer. Remember this location for when you're updating your Player. Verify Player Configuration Before running the Firmware Update Utility, verify that your Player is configured properly. 1. Connect your Player to a USB port on your computer. 2. Open Intel(r) Audio Manager. 3. Look in the player pane: If you see the list of songs currently on your Player or the message, "No songs on player", your Player is properly configured and you may proceed with the firmware update. If you see the message "The Intel Pocket Concert Audio Player is not currently connected to this PC", you need to update your Player's installation on your computer. a) Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. b) Double-click System. c) Click the Hardware tab. d) Click Device Manager. e) Double-click Universal Serial Bus Controllers. f) Select the USB Composite Device, click Remove, then click Refresh. g) Verify in the Intel(r) Audio Manager that you now see the list of songs on Player or "No songs on Player". You can now proceed with the firmware update. Updating Your Player's Firmware 1. Turn on your player. 2. Connect your player to a USB port on your computer and ensure that 'USB' appears on the player's display. 3. From the Temp directory where you saved the download, click fwupd11.exe. 4. Follow the prompts through the wizard. IMPORTANT: Do not disconnect or turn off your Player during the update. 5. After the update is complete and you have clicked Finish: a. Unplug the player from the USB port b. Turn off the player c. Remove and reinsert the batteries d. Turn on your Player while looking at your Player's display. You should see V1.10 at the top of the second screen on your Player's display.
