Intel(r) Pocket Concert(tm) Audio Player Driver Update for Windows* 2000 and XP Note: Print this page for easy reference while you update your Player's driver. Your Player's driver handles the communication between your Player and your computer's operating system. Most of the equipment connected to your computer, such as a mouse and printer, has specific device drivers. Downloading this Driver Update 1. Click DAP2KXP.EXE to download to a temporary location on your computer. Remember this location for when you're updating your Player. If you have Windows 2000 Verify Player Configuration Before you begin, verify that you've successfully completed the installation from the Intel(r) Pocket Concert(tm) Audio Player CD-ROM. 1. Connect your Player to a USB port on your computer. 2. Open the Intel(r) Audio Manager. 3. Look in the player pane: If you see the list of songs currently on your Player or the message, "No songs on player", your Player is properly configured and you can update your Player's driver. If you see the message "The Intel Pocket Concert Audio Player is not currently connected to this PC", you need to update your Player's installation on your computer. a) Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. b) Double-click System. c) Click the Hardware tab. d) Click Device Manager. e) Double-click Universal Serial Bus Controllers. f) Select the USB Composite Device, click Remove, then click Refresh. g) Verify in the Intel(r) Audio Manager that you now see the list of songs on Player or "No songs on Player". You can now update your Player's driver. Updating Your Player's Driver in Windows* 2000 1. Click Start > Run. 2. Click Browse, go to the download location, select DAP2KXP.EXE, and click OK. 3. Click OK to install DAP2KXP.EXE to C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Pocket Concert\DriversXP2K. 4. Verify that your Player is connected to a USB port on your Computer. 5. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. 6. Double-click System. 7. Click the Hardware tab. 8. Click Device Manager. 9. Double-click Intel Audio Player Class. 10. Double-click Intel Audio Player. 11. Click the Driver tab. 12. Click Update Driver then Next. 13. Select Display a list of the know driver for this device so that I can choose a specific driver. 14. Click Next. 15. Click Have Disk. 16. Click Browse and go to C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Pocket Concert\DriversXP2K. 17. Click Open then OK. 18. Select Intel(r) Pocket Concert Audio Player then click Next. 19. Click Next and then Finish to complete the update to your Player's driver. 20. Close the Control Panel. Note: Most computers require you to restart for changes to take effect. If you have Windows XP Updating Your Player's Driver in Windows* XP Note: Run this update if you've successfully installed the Intel(r) Audio Manager and have not been able to successfully install your Player on your computer. 1. Click Start > Run. 2. Click Browse, go to the download location, select DAP2KXP.EXE, and click OK. 3. Click OK then Finish to install DAP2KXP.EXE to C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Pocket Concert\DriversXP2K. 4. Verify that your Player is connected to a USB port on your Computer. 5. Click Start > Control Panel 6. Verify that you're in Classic View. 7. Double-click System. 8. Click the Hardware tab. 9. Click Device Manager. 10. If you see "MI_0 Intel Digital Audio Player" and "MI_1 Intel Digital Audio Player" under the Intel® Digital Audio Player Class category, remove them both. 11. Double-click USB Controllers. 12. Double-click USB Composite Device. 13. Click the Driver tab. 14. Click Update Driver. 15. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next. 16. Select ONLY Include this location in the search and click Browse. 17. Go to C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel Pocket Concert\DriversXP2K and click OK. 18. Click Next and then Finish to complete the update to your Player's driver. 19. Close the Control Panel. Note: Most computers require you to restart for changes to take effect.
