CCXv2 certification ========================== The Windows Registry entry 'CcxS36OffServingLimit' DWORD value exists in 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\SetupClassGUID\device-id' subkey. The maximum time length, Time Unit (TU), contains a maximum time length of non-serving channel measurements requested by an access point, which is obeyed by the client. If the value is not set or is greater than 30000, the accepted limit for off-serving channel measurement is 30000 TU." Upgrading drivers and utilities from previous versions ====================================================== The first time you run the Intel PROSet Installer, the Installer automatically upgrades installed utilities to version 7.1.4. For example, if a previous version of Intel(R) PROSet is installed, it is automatically upgraded to version 7.1.4. The second time you run the Installer, you have the ability to uninstall or modify installed components or install new components. Before installing devices or updating drivers, you must uninstall all devices first. After uninstalling all devices, continue with the installation of the new devices and utilities. Required Service Pack for Windows 2000 ====================================== For the driver and software to function correctly on Windows 2000, you must install Service Pack 3 or later. Required Service Pack for Windows XP ====================================== For the driver and software to function correctly on Windows XP, you must install Service Pack 1 or later. Known limitations ================= Installing multiple VPN clients: If there are multiple VPN clients installed, this might cause the wireless adapter in the Intel(R)PROSet main window Network tree to not display. To fix this issue: Ensure that there is only one VPN client installed. Uninstall all other VPN clients. VPN connection broken after roaming process: This failure appears to occur only when using dynamic IP address. To fix this issue: Use a static IP address or re-establish VPN connection. TAB key problem on non-English versions: TAB key works intermittently when configuring the 'Intel(R)PROSet Credentials' dialog box for non-English versions. Connection problem (only Windows 2000): If an administrator locks a system and another administrator logs in, the connection is not closed. To fix this issue: Ensure that the access point has EAP re-authentication enabled. The connection is then unavailable when the access point makes a request for renewing credentials. Intel(R) PROSet cannot initialize IP connection after installation (only Windows 2000): If the network cable is disconnected and you change TCP/IP settings (for example, IP address), the new settings are not applied until reboot. Windows displays a message that reboot is required. However, if you change from DHCP to static IP, this message does not appear. There can be a problem with some smart card readers. If you are unable to enter your PIN after you have inserted or re-inserted a smart card: - remove and insert the smart card again - click Cancel on the Connect Wireless Network Authentication page. Wait until the page is displayed again to reenter the PIN. - reset the smart card reader Interactions between the operating system and the smart card driver may cause the smart card to hang after the stand by or hibernation process. A workaround for this situation is to log off and log in again. Authentication sometimes fails after stand by or hibernation. To fix this issue: Log off and log on again. Driver reinstallation or upgrade may require that you log off and log on again. If the driver is uninstalled and installed again, Intel(R)PROSet does not connect to any profiles. To fix this issue: Log off and log on again. The issue does not occur if you have not uninstalled the driver prior to the upgrade. After upgrade of the driver, the setup application may ask the user to reboot the machine.
